Brazilian striker Ailton scored twice as Werder Bremen leaped into the pole position of the Bundesliga standings with a 5-3 victory over VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday.
VfB Stuttgart fell from first to third due to its scoreless tie against last-place FC Cologne, but remained unscored upon and undefeated after eight rounds.

Ailton scored in the first 21 minutes to get Bremen going. He is tied for the
league lead with seven goals.

Bremen has scored at least three goals in four of the eight games this season.
