Coach Oscar Ruggieri was jeered and insulted by the crowd as Indpendiente lost their unbeaten record in the Argentine championship at the weekend.
Chilean striker Marcelo Salas's injury problems continued as he limped off in the second minute of River Plate's match at home to Olimpo and his replacement Fernando Cavenaghi scored twice in the 3-0 win.

Independiente slipped from second to fifth in the Apertura championship after
losing 2-1 at home to unfashionable provincial club Colon, who climbed to third.
Substitute Gustavo Savoia scored the winner with seven minutes remaining after Cesar Carignano had opened the scoring for the visitors in the 51st minute and Leonel Rios equalised two minutes later. Ticketmaster
Independiente fans vented their wrath on former World Cup defender Ruggeri, who has failed to endear himself to them since taking over earlier this year.

Salas, who only returned from a month's injury layoff last Wednesday, limped off with what appeared to be a recurrence of his nagging thigh problem against Olimpo.

Cavenaghi fired River ahead 12 minutes later and scored a second from a counter-attack four minutes before halftime.
