Cameroon striker Patrick Mboma scored both goals as Tokyo Verdy won 2-0 at lowly Oita Trinita to stay in touch with J-League leaders Yokohama F-Marinos on Sunday.
Mboma was on target in the 35th minute and the robust forward added a second seven minutes after the break to give Verdy a comfortable victory in Kyushu, southern Japan. Ticketmaster
Verdy climbed to third on 16 points from nine matches in the J-League second stage, two points behind Yokohama and one point behind Nagoya Grampus Eight.
